Solothurn Film Days
19.01.2017 – 26.01.2017
The Solothurn Film Days are the most prestigious festival of Swiss film. Each year in January, the festival presents a representative selection of current Swiss films in the “Forum”. The programme includes films of all genres and lengths: feature films, documentaries, experimental films and animation – short films, cinema films and TV movies. Here, Swiss film is primarily defined in terms of the director's origins, regardless of the location, film crew or source of funding. For eight days, Solothurn becomes a meeting place for dialogue between film, politics and culture. The Swiss Film Academy will also make another guest appearance at this year's festival, selecting the candidates for the “Quartz” Swiss Film Prize and formally announcing them on the “Night of Nominations” at the end of the festival.
