The Museum of Fine Arts in Solothurn is mainly devoted to Swiss art from 1850 onwards.
The small but perfectly formed Museum of Fine Arts in Solothurn always lures me to pay another visit. On the first floor, I admire the collection of Swiss art from the middle of the 19th century onwards, including the impressive works of Hodler, Buchser, Amiet, Frölicher and others. I also like to look at the Old Masters collection, especially the “Madonna among the Strawberries” from around 1425 and the “Solothurn Madonna” by Hans Holbein from around 1522. I also like to visit the alternating exhibitions on the ground floor, where I always make some interesting discoveries.
