This family museum attractively presents the animals, plants and minerals of the region.

The Solothurn Natural History Museum encourages interest, enthusiasm, understanding and a love of nature. It presents animals, plants, rocks and fossils from the Solothurn region. Among its unique items are the 150 million-year-old turtle fossils found in the city’s quarries, the beautiful starfish from the Weissenstein and the famous dinosaur tracks from Lommiswil. All of the animals and objects displayed in the open can be touched. There are a variety of models on display that can be played and experimented with, allowing visitors to discover the natural world and grasp it in the most literal sense.
