Solothurn's "local" mountain

The Weissenstein peak – a real hikers' paradise high above Solothurn. To escape the fog, we visited Solothurn's local mountain. A cable car runs from Oberdorf up to the Weissenstein. Once you arrive at the top, the panorama takes your breath away. If you're lucky, you will have a view from Säntis as far as Mont Blanc! After a stroll along some of the many hiking paths, we enjoyed the sunshine in one of the restaurants. A perfect Sunday!

Hiking network:
There are almost no limits to the options for hiking on the Weissenstein peak. At 1280m above sea level, the Weissenstein is an ideal starting-point for hikes lasting one or more days in the first Jura chain.
