The Solothurn Literary Days

Since 1978, the annual Solothurn Literary Days has provided an exciting platform for Swiss contemporary literature. It brings together writers representing all four national languages, along with readers, media reporters and publishers.

The 47th edition of the Solothurn Literature Days will take place from 30 May - 1 June 2025 – both on site and as a live audio stream for at home or on the go. At the centre of the programme are moderated readings and talks by more than 80 invited authors and translators with their new publications in the fields of prose, poetry, youth and children's literature, spoken word, graphic novels and translations. Another focus are the roundtable discussions on socio-political and literary topics This year, a new festival center is being built in the Museum Park. With an outdoor stage, food trucks and a bar, the park will become a place to stay and enjoy the festival vibe. A total of 22 free readings and events will take place here and on the outdoor stage in front of the St. Ursus Cathedral. Stroll around, stop, sit down, listen and discover.

The Children's and Young People's Literature Days (JuKiLi) are also an integral part of the Solothurn Literature Days, where authors and illustrators from the Swiss children's and young people's book scene present their new publications to many school classes in the form of readings and workshops before the Solothurn Literature Days.
