Literary festival Solothurn
Since 1978, the annual Literaturtage festival has provided an exciting platform for Swiss contemporary literature. It brings together writers representing all four national languages, along with readers, media reporters and publishers.
Since its inception, the Solothurn ‘Literaturtage’ festival has showcased more than 1,200 authors and their books. The festival programme is packed with readings, discussions, translation workshops, performances and exhibitions. A literary and collegial atmosphere emanates from the festival headquarters, located in the ‘Landhaus’ building on the banks of the Aare.
The Kreuz Restaurant across the street, built in 1601 and today operated by a collective, invites all manner of book people – authors and audiences, journalists and publishers – to gather round and debate deep into the night. For these three days, all invited authors are official guests of the Solothurn ‘Literaturtage’ festival.
