Veranstaltungsdetails
Experience an unforgettable evening with masterpieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, presented by the Ensemble Péridot Salzburg from the composer's home town.
Every classical music lover knows that when Mozart chooses the key of G minor, he wants to express something particularly painful and moving. As in Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K. 550, to which Franz Schubert said: 'This is how the angels sing.' The music sounds heart-wrenching, wistful, full of restlessness, no worldly consolation comes close. In contrast, the 'Sinfonia concertante' in E flat major, K. 364, is something of an apotheosis of a concerto for two string instruments. The beginning of the Sinfonia seems as if a curtain is being raised to herald a spectacular performance.
But Mozart would not be Mozart if he did not deceive our expectations. The beginning of the soloists lacks anything spectacular; instead, it seems as if they are awakening from a dream and are only gradually coming round. This is followed by an inner dialogue that is bursting with vitality and movement - especially when such empathetic musicians as Vladyslava Luchenko, violin, and Mariko Hara, viola, are on stage.
