A family lives peacefully on the edge of a disused highway - until the traffic returns and their home becomes an explosive chamber play between escape and detention.
by Antoine Jaccoud
based on the film by Ursula Meier
World premiere
Marthe and Michel live with their three children in a detached house next to a disused highway. When the highway is unexpectedly reopened to traffic, the family's hitherto carefree life becomes more complicated. The highway playground turns into a noise nuisance and a litter trap. While Michel pleads to go away and the eldest daughter does so of her own accord, Marthe insists on staying in the house. In doing so, she drags those closest to her into an existential maelstrom. The nervous strain on everyone causes the intimate play to escalate. The question of what home is becomes a test for the family.
Ursula Meier's film "Home" premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, was shown at the Solothurn Film Festival and won the Swiss Film Award for Best Feature Film and Best Screenplay in 2009. The screenwriter Antoine Jaccoud wrote the play version for TOBS!
