Echoes of Baroque
Julia Deit-Ferrand with music by George Frideric Handel, Antonio Vivaldi, Barbara Strozzi and others
World premiere
"Laissez durer la nuit" combines baroque music, traditional Mediterranean songs and electronic sounds in a fascinating way. Together with an exquisite ensemble, mezzo-soprano Julia Deit-Ferrand takes us on a musical journey from the depths of the night to the first glimmer of dawn. Baroque music with its structured elegance meets the pulsating rhythms of folk music, traditional melodies interweave with synthetic sounds, electronic sounds are reflected in baroque harmonies - each element resonates with the others. The interplay between analog and digital opens up new worlds of sound: a surprising connection between old and new!
