Event details
It's two o'clock in the morning: George and Martha, a university couple, come home drunk from a cocktail. As George looks forward to going to bed, Martha announces to him that she is still expecting guests: the new teacher Nick wants to spend with his wife Honey. This intrusion does not please George at all. When the young couple arrives, the argument breaks out: twenty years of marriage full of compromises and shattered dreams find themselves at the center of a fierce discussion where the other is exposed and humiliated in front of the guests. Simple spectators, Nick and Honey will quickly be involved and hit hard by the marital dispute. And while the alcohol continues to flow, the situation degenerates into a veritable orgy of insults crowned by a fatal night's drinking. "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" is the best-known play by American playwright Edward Albee. Created in 1962 in New York, it is one of the classics of 20th century theater. Janusz Kica, known to TOBS audiences for his productions of “Hedda Gabler” and “The Long Journey into the Night”, brings to the stage this fabulously destructive night.
