Biel - Solothurn (Routes no. 5 and 8)

"Invigorated by a coffee and croissant, I started at Biel station and followed the cycle path towards Solothurn. To begin with, the path runs along the right bank of the Aare, then from Orpund I switched to the left-hand side of the river. I visited the historic small town of Büren on the Aare. Then, as I continued to ride, the journey along the Aare became more and more natural. The beauty of nature invited me to enjoy a picnic followed by a refreshing footbath. Elegant storks on the rooftops signaled my arrival in Altreu. Only 10 km (6 miles) left until Solothurn, where I admired the beautiful town centre before beginning the well-earned return journey by boat. With the pleasant breeze on the boat, I enjoyed a glass of chilled wine from the region – heavenly!"
