SwitzerlandMobility: Hiking

Seeland - Solothurn Trail (route No. 76)

"The distance from Erlach to Solothurn is 70 km (43 miles). This hike can be completed in four stages. I once went on a trip to the Three-Lakes Region to discover the 70km hike, however I only completed the first stage. My advice would be to take time visiting Erlach (known as Cerlier in French), which is the starting point. There are many places to explore in Erlach, from the charming winding streets, St Peter’s Island to the castle. In the future, I would like to visit St Peter’s Island, which is really a peninsula that can be reached from Erlach by foot or bicycle. The footpath runs alongside Lake Biel.
All along the peninsula, I admired the wild and natural state of the shoreline. To really appreciate the beauty of this place, there are various picnic and barbecue spots to stop all along the path. When I arrived in Biel, I promised myself I would return to finish this wonderful hike to Solothurn."
