“For this year's autumn hike, we met at the Im Holz station in Lommiswil. Shortly after we set off, we reached our first highlight: the dinosaur tracks. The numerous metre-sized prints were clearly visible in the autumn light from the fortified platform. The ascent to the Hasenmatt led us through a beech forest tinted in autumn colours. At the highest point of the Canton of Solothurn (1445 m), our efforts were rewarded by a 360 degree panoramic view. “Above the clouds, freedom is surely limitless!" (German song by Reinhard Mey.) After having a short rest at Berggasthof Althüsli (Althüsli mountain inn), we moved on to Gänsbrunnen crossing through Chessel and Rüschgraben. There we also visited the small animal park Sikypark. A beautiful experience which we would love to repeat.”
