Solothurn’s old town couldn’t be any more impressive. Strolling through the streets, meeting friendly folk, whiling away some time in a book shop, stopping for a drink in a café – this is the life!

A wonderful town. It may be small, but it’s full of beauty and innovation.

My name is Claudia Sollberger and I’m married with two adult children. The Martin Buber quote ‘all actual life is encounter’ is one of my life philosophies. Understanding people as individuals is essential for me.

Favourite spot: My favourite spot? I have many: the market on Saturday mornings, the Baseltor restaurant, up on the Solothurn Cathedral tower looking out over the rooftops, the river and the green meadows beyond.

A wonderful town! It may be small, but it’s full of beauty and innovation. I love its variety of restaurants and cultural events, as well as its 2,000 years of architectural history. I often roam the streets, perusing the creative displays in shop windows and enjoying the company of the town’s vast variety of residents. So many people contribute to making this town great – and I love that about Solothurn.
