In front of the exhibition room on the fourth floor of the Goetheanum, new casts of Rudolf Steiner's sculptural building models are on display. The development of the formal language from the first to the second building becomes visible as a metamorphosis in the chronological arrangement of the building casts of private houses as well as functional buildings designed in the sculptural-organic architectural style. The original sculpture and the model development of the 'Statue of the Representative of Humanity' are shown in the exhibition room. This 9.5 m high sculpture was originally planned for the stage of the first Goetheanum. It was created in 1915-1918 by the English sculptor Edith Maryon in collaboration with Rudolf Steiner. Since this spring a 1:20 scale model of the first Goetheanum has been on display in the newly furnished room in the Carpentry Workshop, together with an exhibition on the history of the Goetheanum buildings. Mr Rudolf Feuerstack worked with helpers for 26 years on the walk-in model. Although it is unfinished, the visitor gets a fascinating spatial impression of the first Goetheanum made of wood.
