Cycling in and around Solothurn is great fun, with enchanting trails along the rivers Aare or Emme, challenging terrain in the Jura mountains and stunning routes through authentic farming villages.

Thanks to cycling, I know Solothurn like the back of my hand.

I’m Nathalie Schneitter and I began my mountain biking career in 2004. In 2008, I qualified for the Olympic Games and in 2010 I won the Cross-country World Cup. Nowadays, I’m responsible for organising the ‘Bike Days’ festival.

Favourite spot: I love the outdoors – my favourite spot in Solothurn is at the top of the Röti mountain. I enjoy the views there all year round: on my bike in summer, or on foot in winter when I want to escape the fog.

Solothurn is my home – I grew up and went to school here. After spending a few years in another city, I came back – I really do treasure this region! Because of all my mountain biking, I know the area inside out – but I still keep finding wonderful new spots to explore.
