The Children & Youth area is open to all children and young people. Even the very little ones are welcome! The library has impressive picture books for all ages, exciting and scary thrillers, heartfelt love stories, interesting non-fiction books, funny comics and current "Heftli". But there's more: audio books, films and even console games as well as Tiptoi and Ting books and pens are available to borrow.
If children need to prepare a presentation for school, the team will be happy to help them find books and answer any questions they may have.

Offers for teachers
The Solothurn Central Library also offers the following special services for schools, kindergartens and similar institutions:
- Have a themed case put together
- 3 months loan period
- Large selection of workshops and materials for lessons
- Loan of book caterpillars
- Guided tours for school classes
