What is Urban Golf?

Urban Golf is a fun reinterpretation of traditional golf – played not on the grass, but right in the heart of the city. In Solothurn, alleys, squares, and parks transform into a creative course with 11 varied holes. Instead of hard golf balls, soft balls are used for a safe and enjoyable urban playing experience. The starting point, instructions, and equipment rental are all located at the Solothurn Tourist Office.

Rules of the game

  • Please always be considerate – pedestrians and cyclists have the right of way. A friendly “We are playing with a softball on the official Urban Golf course” often helps.
  • Play is only allowed on the officially approved holes.
  • Only the special Urban Golf equipment may be used (Urban Golf softball, wooden block as ball rest).
  • The 11 holes are located on public grounds. We thank you for respectful and mindful play. Solothurn Tourism disclaims all liability.
