Museum The Little Prince and His World
A unique place full of imagination, culture and encounters will open in the heart of Solothurn in the historic Palais Besenval: the museum ‘The Little Prince and His World’.
The museum ‘The Little Prince and His World’ is being created from the world's largest collection on The Little Prince and will be open to researchers and visitors. The Little Prince is more than just a symbol for children's books; he is a gateway to the world and a literary phenomenon, with 5 million copies sold worldwide every year.
Exhibition
The exhibition is located on the first and second floors of the Palais Besenval, covering an area of around 500 m². The Little Prince appeals to both children and adults. The universality of this story is unique: the book uses poetic language to address many themes that touch on life.
The museum offers exciting discoveries for every target group. The gardens overlooking the River Aare extend the universe of The Little Prince with a rose garden that symbolises the prince's journey and the learning of relationships and bonds.
Sustainability
The story of The Little Prince also addresses the issue of sustainability and emphasises our responsibility for the environment. This message is actively implemented in the museum and reflected in its offerings.
Schools
The exhibition can only be visited as part of a guided tour, and that is precisely what makes it such a special experience! The guides take the pupils on a fascinating journey into the world of The Little Prince.
Creative workshops are also offered, inviting participants to get involved and discover new things. Whether theatre weeks, special workshops or individual programmes – on request, we can put together tailor-made offers that combine knowledge and imagination.
Families
The story of The Little Prince inspires young people to read and, with over 620 translations, opens up access to the languages of the world. Children and families can immerse themselves in the world of the Prince: they discover his messages, experience his adventures and get involved themselves at interactive stations.
For many adults, a visit is a journey back to their own childhood – and at the same time a new encounter with the story, enriched by interactive and immersive experiences.
