Built in 1863, the indoor riding arena was designed from the outset as a multi-purpose building that would provide space for exhibitions and events in addition to equestrian sports. Horses were still regularly trained in the building until 1980. Since then, the building with its impressive roof truss has only been used as an event venue. The historic structure was carefully renovated shortly after the turn of the millennium and is now a listed building.
