Not enough air in your tyres? Now this is no longer a problem in the Energy City of Solothurn and the Energy City Gold Zuchwil - thanks to the public bike pump and service stations! At six selected locations, cyclists can pump their bikes free of charge at any time. The pumps are suitable for all common valves.
At the Solothurn swimming pool and the Zuchwil community centre, there is also a tool board to carry out minor repairs. In this way, the two energy cities are creating better conditions for cyclists. An overview map of the bike pump and service stations in Solothurn and Zuchwil can be found here.
The bike pumps were purchased as part of the two-year smart!mobil project of the energy cities of Grenchen, Solothurn, Olten, Zuchwil and the Thal region. The project aims to jointly communicate and raise awareness of environmentally friendly forms of mobility and various sharing offers (www.so-mobil.ch/smart-mobil). smart!mobil won the Smart City Innovation Challenge in spring 2020 and is supported by the SwissEnergy programme of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy. Various well-known personalities from politics and sport form the patronage committee of smart!mobil, including wheelchair athlete Heinz Frei and local councillor Melanie Racine.
